Summary/ Objective

The inventory control clerk (coordinator?) position manages inventory through the QuickBooks database and maintain levels required on a daily basis to meet distribution demands.

 

Job Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

  • Enter data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations within the shop, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into computer database.
  • Close shop packets received and purge computer database.
  • Receive and issue finished goods into computer database.
  • Resolve any material needs, solving material problems and inventory control issues as they arise.
  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.
  • Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.
  • Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Physical Demands, Mental Demands and Working Conditions

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, blue prints, requirements and specifications. Ability to effectively present information and participate in discussions with groups of peers, employees and vendors.

Math Ability:

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as algebra, units of money and quantities. Ability to apply concepts such as tolerance, fractions, and other measurements.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several concrete variables.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Position may be subject to work overtime.

 

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a high school education (or GED) and one year of factory-related experience in inventory.
  • Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Enterprise is preferred.
